Mark has several degrees underlining his skills as a BMUS from Canterbury, a graduate certificate in software and I.T from Lincoln university with a research scholarship in computer vision. He has since specialised in React, Backend Development, SQL and agile practices and is fluent in:

Before joining Developers Institute
Mark mostly lived in NZ, however has seen a fair bit of the world when he was working on a cruise ship for a couple of years. He has also lived in the UK and the USA before returning to NZ, Christchurch to be precise, where he worked as a showband drummer. This was right when the second Christchurch earthquake hit. He ended up working red-zone security and had long hours of downtime during which revived his tech skills.
